Getting there and directions to the ground

By Train: There are usually two trains per hour that serve Lanark on Saturdays. These services originate at Dalmuir or Milngavie and terminate at Lanark. The information given below is correct at the time of writing (April 2007).

For a Saturday 2 pm kick off, departing from Glasgow Central, the most likely services you'd take would be the 12.07 (via Blantyre & Hamilton), or the 12.47 (via Bellshill), due to arrive 13.12 and 13.42 respectively. Obviously there are earlier alternatives to those should you wish a pre- match refreshment in town.

Weekday times are different. For a 6.45 or 7.00 pm kick off the trains you want are as follows- departing Glasgow Central at 17.07 (via Bellshill) or 17.37 (via Motherwell), arrive 17.54 and 18.24 respectively. In any case, wherever you're coming from I'd recommend that before you board any train you first confirm times by clicking on the link below (Scotrail site)...

By Bus: You can reach Lanark from Hamilton bus station. Bus #31 from stance four leaves at 22 minutes past each hour on Saturdays and takes about 40 minutes.

You will arrive at the Lanark interchange- a term used for the bus and train stations, which are adjacent- and from here you turn left at the tourist office, walk along Ladyacre Street a few hundred yards until you reach a roundabout. Take the second fork onto Hyndford Road and from there it's basically a straight road, the park is the fourth turn-off on the left, set back from the road behind houses. See map below.

By Car: Coming in from Carluke (A73) the park is on the opposite (south) side of town. Go up the High Street as far as the traffic lights. At this junction take the middle of the three roads into Bannatyne Street. About halfway along this changes to Ladyacre Street, you will see said interchange on your left, from there it's the same way as above. If you're coming in from the south the park is on your right, just after the golf course and Lanark loch.

Alas it seems the council has deemed the ground unworthy of inclusion on signposts in town, so to point visiting fans (or indeed any interested locals) in the general direction of the Stade de Moor, follow the blue line in the direction of the arrow. The park is the second on the left after Newlands Street, approx 400 yards further on.
